miRCURY Exosome Isolation Kit은 다양한 Biofluids (Serum, plasma, urine, CSF)로부터 Exosome을 추출하기 위한 제품이다. 본 제품을 이용하여 추출한 Exosome은 그 자체로 분석에 이용할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, Exiqon의 miRCURY RNA Isolation kit를 이용하여 RNA를 추출 후, microRNA profiling에 이용 가능하다.

Exosome이란?
Exosome은 20 - 120 nm 크기의 세포 유래 막입자 (cell derived membranous particles)로써, microvesicle보다는 크기가 작고 virus와는 크기가 유사하다 (그림 1). Exosome은 세포로부터 분비되어 다양한 체액 (body fluids)에서 찾을 수 있다. Exosome의 역할은 protein carrier 또는 RNA carrier와 같은 intracellular hormone-like messenger로써 질병이나 생물학적 과정 (biological process) 연구의 biomarker로써 이상적이다.
Exosome은 plasma membrane와 multivesicular bodies의 융합에 의해 생성되며 다양한 세포로부터 분비된다. Exosome은 아래와 같은 과정에 관련이 있다.

Immune regulation (e.g. tumor derived exosomes may help the tumor to evade the immune response)
Blood coagulation
Cell migration
Cell differentiation
Cell-to-cell communication

특징

miRCURY Exosome Isolation Kit는 다양한 biofluids로부터 exosome을 효율적으로 추출할 수 있으며, 이후miRCURY RNA Isolation Kit를 이용하여 RNA를 추출 가능하다 (그림 2). 본 제품을 이용하면, cell conditioned media, urine, CSF, serum 또는 plasma와 같은 다양한 biofluid로부터 두 시간 이내에 exosome을 추출 가능하다 (그림 3).
